Tasks of the department’s disciplines – to give the future student in the educational program “Physical Culture and Sports” the amount of knowledge and skills that allows rational use of the biological capabilities of a person in achieving high sports results, while maintaining and strengthening health, to prevent violations caused by irrational training or extreme situations, to help the coach and teacher in planning and correcting training, to competently conduct wellness training, to ensure rational selection, recovery and sports longevity, to provide first aid.

The pride of the department is the anatomical museum-a collection of anatomical preparations, natural and artificial, stored in special rooms.

The Department of Anatomy, Physiology and Sports Medicine actively participates in various events, scientific conferences, and symposiums organized both by the academy’s management and outside.

The professors and teachers of the department have developed and published many different textbooks, scientific works, methodological guidelines and monographs in the state and Russian languages, which have received their recognition.

The Department systematically collects, accumulates and analyzes information about its activities, evaluates strengths and weaknesses, market opportunities and existing threats.
