On April 21, 2026, the Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism hosted the second day of the international project “Formation of Practical Competencies in Serving People with Disabilities in Kazakhstan,” implemented within the framework of the RITA (Region in Transition) program – “Changes in the Region.” The initiative is carried out by the “Education for Democracy” Foundation, co-financed by the Polish-American Freedom Foundation.
The day began with the second part of the lecture “People with Special Needs,” delivered by a specialist from Poland, Michał Słomiński.
After the lunch break, participants took part in a practical session on “Training in mobility with a cane for visually impaired people and assistance (support techniques, safety, communication).”
The participants gained an understanding of the challenges faced by visually impaired individuals, as well as knowledge of cane mobility techniques and methods of providing assistance.
