It’s been 74 years from the formation of Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism. On November 14, 2018, in the Assembly Hall, a solemn ceremony was held to celebrate the next birthday, which was held, according to the established tradition, together with student initiation ceremony.
The event was started by the official ceremony of awarding the best of the best: including the leading members of the Academy, students, advisors and coaches. The gala evening was opened by the President of the Academy, Professor Kairat Kairullinovich Zakiryanov, who said:
– Congratulations to all with happy birthday of our Academy, and first-year students – with the day of initiation into the students! As it is already known, Kazakhstan has 130 Higher Education Institutions and only one – the Academy of Sport. In the world there are two outstanding titles that honor any people. This is the Nobel Prize Laureate and the title of Olympic champion. THEY ARE SIGNIFICANT IN THE SAME WAY. All our Kazakhstan universities, taken together, have not prepared a single Nobel Prize winner. And the only Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism has prepared 33 Olympic champions! There are no words needed.
The President of KazAST, Professor Kairat Kairullinovich Zakiryanov solemnly presented to a graduate of the Academy, a famous Kazakh wrestler, Honored Coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan Daulet Turlykhanov, a public award “Alexander the Great” for his service and contribution to the development of sports in Kazakhstan.
