Research Activities of the Department of World Languages

At present, the Department is actively conducting research work on the topic “Formation of Communicative Competence of Students Majoring in Physical Culture within Professionally Oriented Foreign Language Education.” In order to identify key challenges in the process of professionally oriented language teaching, experimental studies are being carried out and scientific approaches to solving these issues are being proposed.

In 2025, the faculty members of the Department took part in organizing and conducting the 1st Republican Scientific and Practical Conference “Language and Culture: Interrelation in the Context of Globalization” held in Almaty. Within the framework of the conference, research papers addressing current issues of language and culture interaction were presented. Students of the Academy and other higher education institutions of Kazakhstan participated in the event, which contributed to the development of interuniversity cooperation and research competencies.

In January 2024, an online webinar titled “Scientific Article: Rules for Writing Academic Papers in English” was held for the faculty members and students of the Academy. The webinar was organized by a department lecturer, Bakhytzhan E.K., who successfully completed the course “Writing a Scientific Paper and Basics of Statistical Methods of Analysis in IBM SPSS Statistics” at the Baker Street Education Center in 2023.

The faculty members of the Department regularly participate in scientific conferences and publish the results of their research in journals recommended by the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (KQASHE), as well as in journals indexed in the SCOPUS database and other national and international peer-reviewed journals.

In 2023, senior lecturers of the Department, Minbayeva S.M. and Mirzaliyeva S.E., participated in the online scientific and practical conferences “Global Science and Innovations 2023: Central Asia, Astana” and “Educational Spaces: International Approaches and Sustainable Solutions for Creating a Prosperous Educational Environment” (Czech Republic).

In March 2022, a lecturer of the Department, Bakhytzhan Elmira Karzhaubaykyzy, completed an international research internship at South-West University “Neofit Rilski”, Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, from March 22 to April 15, 2022, for the purpose of conducting scientific research.

The aim of the international research internship was to consolidate practical skills in applying modern research methods in the field of training students of non-linguistic specialties.

In collaboration with the international scientific consultant, Professor S.H. Dermendzhieva, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, a research article entitled “The Actuality of Teaching a Foreign Language Using Digital Technology at Non-Linguistic Universities” was prepared.
