The fifth day of the international project «Development of Practical Competencies in Serving People with Disabilities in Kazakhstan», implemented within the RITA (Region in Transition) program, co-financed by the Polish-American Freedom Foundation and carried out by the «Education for Democracy Foundation», concluded with a formal closing ceremony.
During the event, the results of the project were summarized, and participants were awarded certificates and commemorative gifts.
During the closing ceremony, Professor Alexander Skaliy, the project leader, signed an act of transferring equipment to the balance of the Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism. The transferred equipment included two wheelchairs for people with disabilities, ten specialized canes for the visually impaired, and ten vision-impairment simulation glasses intended for practical training sessions.
After the official part, Polish partners from WSG Bydgoszcz University held negotiations with the President of the Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism, Kairat Kairullinovich Zakiryanov, on further cooperation, including the possibility of launching a dual-degree program.
The project participants — faculty members from various educational institutions, social workers, people with disabilities, and students of the Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism – acquired knowledge and practical skills in Polish teaching methods aimed at improving services for people with disabilities.
