Kenzhebekova Gulsin, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Vice-Rector for Science, Innovation, and Digital Transformation of the Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism

 

She graduated from the Almaty Branch of the Zhambyl Technological Institute (now Almaty Technological University) in 1992. Over the years, she worked at M.Kh. Dulaty Taraz State University and the Kazakh Engineering and Technological University, holding the positions of laboratory engineer, teaching assistant, and Deputy Dean..

In 2002, she completed her postgraduate studies at the KazRIFGV (later reorganized into the SPCFI) without interruption from professional activity. She continued her professional career there, progressing from Senior Specialist to Head of Laboratory.

In 2005, she defended her dissertation and was awarded the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences. In 2007, she was invited to the KazIST (later reorganized into the NCSTE), where she worked until 2014 as Head of the Patent Research Department and Head of the Department for Commercialization of Scientific and Technical Results.

From 2008 to 2009, she completed professional training at the Russian State Institute of Intellectual Property (Moscow, Russian Federation) and obtained a diploma as a Patent Research Specialist.

From 2014 to 2023, she worked at the Eurasian Technological University as Head of the Department of Science and International Relations and Director of the Department of Science, concurrently serving as Scientific Secretary.

She began her work at the Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism as Head of the Department of Science and International Relations. In September 2025, she was appointed Acting Vice-Rector for Science and International Relations. Since January 2026, she has been serving as Vice-Rector for Science, Innovation, and Digital Transformation.

She was a member of the working group involved in the development of the Law on Commercialization and has experience in submitting and implementing grant-funded projects. In 2024, she initiated the establishment of the Technology and Innovation Support Center (TISC) at the Kazakh Academy of Sports and Tourism—an international project implemented with the support of the World Intellectual Property Organization and the National Institute of Intellectual Property of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
