Swimming Department
Before the unification in 1995, the ode to the departments of swimming was an independent division of the institute. In particular, the institute’s curriculum provided for a compulsory swimming course for all students.
Lukyanovsky is the first head of the swimming department of the Kazakh State Institute of Physical Culture (1945-1946).
The first classes on sports swimming skills were held outside the city on a pond in the village of Tastak under the guidance, then young professionals, graduates of the G.M. Lukyanovsky , A.P. Gut, G. Sinitsina.
In the summer of 1947, the first personal-team championship of the republic in swimming was held on this pond on a temporarily equipped swimming pool with three tracks, where the teams of Guryev, Uralsk and Alma-Ata took part.
Due to the unfavorable conditions for training and work to promote swimming sports, there was a need to build at least a primitive swimming pool.
The search for the construction site of the pool led to the Park of Culture and Recreation by Mikhail Gorky, where near the river Alma-Atinka was a neglected, littered with garbage site.
With the active assistance of the Alma-Ata City Committee of the Communist Party and the Central Committee of the LYC of Kazakhstan, enthusiasts of the Komsomol group Kaz Gor Project, on a public basis, a project of a summer pouring swimming pool measuring 25×15 meters with an 8-meter tower for diving, a sediment for heating and chlorination of water was prepared.
In a very short period of time, by the forces of students and teachers of the Kazakh Institute of Physical Culture, on a public basis, the swimming pool was built, may 2, 1948, it was the opening of the great water festival.
The swimming pool of the institute, built in a picturesque area of the park of culture and recreation, has become one of the best sports facilities in the capital. On its territory there was a gymnastic town, a platform for weightlifting and sports wrestling.
The first swimming pool of the Kazakh Institute of Physical Culture in the country gave impetus to the development of sports swimming, water polo and diving. Regular competitions and water festivals attracted the attention of a wide range of residents of Alma-Ata, who were happy to visit them and sent their children to the educational groups organized by the department.
In August 1948, the second personal-team championship of the Kazakh USSR in swimming was held in this pool, which later became the center of educational-methodical and sports-mass work. Teams of four regions (Guryevskaya, Ural, Kzyl-Ordinskaya, Semipalatinsk) and Alma-Ata participated.
The appearance of the material base created conditions for the inclusion of sports swimming in the program IV of the All-Ukastan Spartakiad in 1949.
Swimming competitions in the program of the All-Cossack Spartakiad have become the arena of study of participants, coaches, heads of sports organizations of the republic and a tribune of widespread popularization of sports swimming. During the competitions, organizational issues were resolved on the creation of a section (federation) of swimming, the chairman of which was elected head of the swimming department Alexander Petrovich Gut.
A noticeable shift in the mass and skill of the swimmers of Kazakhstan took place already at the V All-Kazakh Spartakiad 1950.They were: Bahi Yelgundiyev (1927, coach A.P. Gut), Viktor Morozov (1928, coach A.P. Gut), Yuri Kaby (1928, coach L.M. Lukyanovsky), Nikolai Semashko (1928, coach S.A. Hasanov).
Participating in the 1st Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR in 1956, the swimmers of Kazakhstan took the 11th place among 17 teams of the Union republics.
By this time the talent of the swimmer Gennady Nikolaev was revealed – 1938 (Alma-Ata, coach L.M. Lukyanovsky), who fulfilled the strict standard set by the Ussr Swimming Federation. He was a member of 10 Soviet swimmers who competed in the 16th Olympic Gamesin Melbourne, Australia, where he won bronze in the 4 x200m relay. Gennady Nikolaev, repeatedly defending the country’s sporting honor on the international stage, becomes the world record holder in the relay swimming 4×200 m freestyle (1956), six-time (1956-1958) record holder of Europe in relay swimming, two-time record holder of the USSR (1957) in swimming in 200 freestyle. During this period, a number of swimmers – Tamara Dobrovolskaya, Mikhail Shegai, Oleg Mikhailov, Vladimir Petrov, Abdullah Enikeev and others- show themselves. who successfully defended the honor of Kazakhstan at many competitions and competitions of the peoples of the USSR.
The country is positively addressing such crucial issues as training and construction of swimming pools. In 1949, the Kazakh Institute of Physical Culture carried out the first production of highly qualified swimming specialists, the number of which by 1967 reached 98 people.
Despite the noticeable increase in the results of the leading swimmers of the republic from the competition to the competition, the standings of the national team of swimmers deteriorated. If on the 1st Spartakiad of the peoples of the USSR swimmers took the 11th place, then on the 2 Spartakiad they fell a notch and took the 12th place. Unprecedented harvest on records were the competition of swimmers on the program 3 Spartakiads of the peoples of the USSR 1963. Twelve records of the Kazakh USSR were set. However, it brought even more disappointment to swimming fans in the country – Kazakhstani swimmers had to settle for only 14 places, although the team was prepared much stronger than before the 2nd Spartakiad.
It became clear that for effective training and successful participation of Kazakhstani athletes at the Ussr’s Spartakiads, other conditions are needed to enable year-round training of swimmers – indoor swimming pools. In the following years, a number of indoor winter swimming pools were built. The first of these (25 x12.5m) in Karaganda at the end of 1957. In 1963, the Winter Pool (25 x8.4m) of the Palace of Pioneers in Almaty and the summer (50 x20 m) heated water pool in Kentau; in 1965 – winter (25 x15 m) swimming pool at the Alma-Ata Housebuilding Plant; indoor pool (25h5m) with two tracks in Ust-Kamenogorsk; Spring 1967 – Winter Pool (25 x15m) at the Central Stadium of the Kazakh USSR in Almaty.
The appearance of indoor swimming pools, built and equipped at the level of modern requirements, created conditions for year-round training work with swimmers, and this immediately affected the growth of sports and technical results of swimmers. Thus, if in 1965 the standard of the master of sports of the USSR managed to overcome only one swimmer from Karaganda Nikolai Budyansky (coach A.P. Yurchenko), in 1966 this threshold is overcome by 9 people. They were: Almaatins – Ilya Slobin (1947), Larissa Belousova (1948 coach V.V. Masyutenko); Vladimir Tatarchuk (1944, coach S.A. Hasanov); Yuri Gilev (1948), Igor Panov (1951), Alexey Svetonosov (1948, coach O.E.Mikhailov); Yuri Titov (1943), Valery Yermoshin (1946, coach B.E.Vishnyakov) and Vladimir Konradi (1947) from Karaganda (coach L.M. Lazaridi). Yurchenko; Tatiana Kursinova (1948, coach S.A. Hasanov; Viktor Aboimov (1948, coach L.M. Lazaridi; Olga Butskaya (1953, coach B.E. Vishnyakov); Yuri Mishin (1950, coach M.I. Shegai); Yuri Bozhenko (1950) R.B. Petrov); Sergey Molgachev (1950, coach O.E. Mikhailov); Shamil Garipov (1951, coach A.S. Segov).
If before 1965 in the table of records of the republic there was not a single result exceeding the standard of the master of sports, on the eve of the 4th Spartakiad of the peoples of the USSR out of 24 types and distances of individual swimming in the table of records of the republic 15 belonged to the masters of sports of the USSR, 7 – candidates for masters of sports of the USSR and only 2 – first-graders.
The Department of Swimming, since 1948, was headed by Shamil Abdulovich Hasanov (1921-1970), who made a great contribution to the development of the department and swimming in the republic, Distinguished Coach of the Republic in swimming, coach of the national team, judge of the all-union category.
They worked with him at the department:
The successes of the swimmers of Kazakhstan, their access to new, higher frontiers were the result of creative searches and selfless work of coaches, organizers of the physical movement of the republic. They also meant that sports swimming passed the stage of formation, became much stronger and became one of the most popular sports in the country.
As a result of the preparation and participation of the team of swimmers of Kazakhstan at the IV Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR in 1967, the honorary title of “Honored Coach of the Kazakh USSR” Shamil Abpdulovich Hasanov, the senior coach of the republic Boris Elizarovitch Vishnyakov, graduate coaches of the Kazakh State Institute of Physical Culture Vasily Masyutenko, Oleg Evgenyevich Mikhailov, Vladimir Borisovich Petrov, Mikhail Shegai, Eduard Samoilovich Levites (all from Alma-Ata), Lazari
Swimmers of Kazakhstan achieve new heights of sportsmanship and at the subsequent Spartakiads of the peoples of the USSR.
